The International Mixed Martial Arts Association

[IMMAA]**,
pronounced I [ahy] + MMAA [mah] was founded in 2002, as an umbrella alliance for all National & International Modern Martial Arts Federations, various associations and practitioners with the aim of friendship and education between all modern martial arts. They assist by helping their members becoming better informed and making themselves known, and cooperating and coordinating their activities.

The IMMAA presents itself as an international organization with a distinct educational profile as far as its goals, structure, membership and working bodies are concerned.

Their main purpose is to serve as an international organization concerned with
the promotion and education in the mixed martial arts to contribute to the awareness of human values inherent in the martial arts and to improve health and physical well-being in all countries to the highest level.

They are able to accomplish this because they foster an environment free of intimidation, politics, and other distracters. Welcoming all like-minded individuals, regardless of race, gender, ethnic background, religion, national origin, or physical handicap.


IMMAA Dept. of Martial Education

This dynamic multi-professional department, which has expertise from many areas of the martial arts and their sciences maintains the mission and integrity of the institution through its guidance and knowledge.


IMMAA History
  • 2002 - IMMAA founded, by Sensei Jason W. Carter
  • 2007 – IMMAA recognized as a world martial arts organization, by the EJJU and the IJJF
  • 2008 – IMMAA is accepted as a “B” class member by the 23rd General Assembly of “International Council of Sport Science and Physical Education” [ICSSPE]

  • 2008 – IMMAA joined into formal associate relations with the “United National Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization” [UNESCO].

  • 2009 - Yearbook of International Organizations by the Union of International Associations (UIA)
